There are two papers in the course of history for the main exam: (i) is covered in Paper 1 from early ancient history to the eighteenth century. Paper 2 begins with European entry from India and covers the entire modern Indian history for the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1990. Paper 1 has 24 parts, while Paper II has 27 parts.
